What now?

What now cover

[Sigh]

This is probably a question that has crossed many people’s mind but in different forms. I am going straight to the point without preambles, the question is: what’s life? or for others is: what is the purpose of life? What now? I’m sure that a similar type of question has crossed your mind and it is almost impossible to answer it because I guess that’s what life is about.

In my case, I am a young and curious lady who always avoids to “select” that path that society kind of implies you should take. Let me make myself clear. For instance, in high school, I was often told that I could become anything science-math related and since I was young and inexperienced, I went through a few majors that I thought would be a good fit for me. It took me almost 3 years to realize that the fact that you’re good at something, doesn’t mean you have to be it– especially me, Amy the “stubborn,” who likes the challenging stuff and all that. I went from the North Pole to the South, from numbers to art (TV, radio, and film)

So, society also implies that women need to become mothers and build a family and all that. Okay, I guess I’d agree because women are the ones that can carry a baby physically inside of them but because a woman can, means they must do that? I am not against it at all but I am against people that push you to be something or do something JUST BECAUSE…

Ladies– and gentlemen, too, because I know some guys that feel that pressure from our society, read this clearly: it is your choice, your voice, your decisions, and the consequences will be taken by you and only you, therefore, it is you who should take the decision. Don’t let anybody tell you what to do, especially when you feel like that shouldn’t be the path you should go for. And if at the end of the day you fall, then get up and choose a different path. It is 2018 and we’ve seen that society is not always right, so why are we constantly pursued to follow it?

My “what now?” continues but I’m just going to stop here otherwise I won’t stop writing.

XO, Amy
